50th Anniversary Festival Weekend

26 October from 9:30 am to 27 October from 4:30 pm

CELEBRATING FIFTY YEARS OF BUDDHIST PRACTICE IN THE CENTRE OF BRIGHTON.

You are invited to join us on the weekend of 26th and 27th October as we celebrate our centre with two days of practice, ritual, talks and friendship.

With recollections from the past and chats about the future, we will have open forums and park bench conversations. You will find quiet spaces for catching up with old friends and social spaces to gather together.

On Saturday morning Maitridarshin will introduce the weekend and lead us in a Re-dedication ceremony.

Parami, our President will join us from Glasgow via video and share some of our hopes for the future.

Akasati will then host a panel of former chairs – Yasodeva, Mangala, Moksini and Karunavira as they give us a flavour of times past and perhaps share with us what their Dharma lives are like now.

In the afternoon our former President, Ratnaprabha will lead us in practice followed by a talk entitled, ‘Buddhism, Science and Evolution’.

The afternoon will conclude with an open forum.

On Sunday morning Vessantara, our former Chair and President will lead us in practice and share some of his own memories and stories around the early days in Brighton.

The afternoon will include park bench conversations inviting friends from the past and the present to share how the Dharma has touched their lives.

We will conclude the weekend with a closing ritual.

Please book your (free) place because spaces are limited.
