4 week course on Tuesday evenings
Suitable for beginners
It’s easy to slip into complaint about others, or self-critical thoughts. Sometimes it almost seems pleasant to be grumpy about things. But the Buddha taught that the way to happiness is to cultivate an accepting, positive attitude towards ourselves and others. In the Metta Bhavana practice, we learn how to do just that. Join us for this 4 week introductory course.
“All that we are is the result of what we have thought… What we think, we become.”
According to the Buddha, our actions always have consequences. If so, then it makes sense to engage in positive actions that foster positive outcomes. We can prevent the slide towards negative bias by simply noticing our reactions towards others. What happens when we bring our best friend to mind? What happens when we recall a difficult work colleague? Or a dog, or a cow? Learn this simple, beautiful practice and infuse your life with acceptance and love.
“Not by hatred is hatred overcome. Only by love is hatred overcome.”
