An opportunity to gather together in large numbers in much the same way as followers of the Buddha did in the rainy seasons.
A prominent feature of Sangha Day is the precious opportunity for Mitras to reaffirm their commitment in the context of Puja. This year we are starting the day with Puja, Mitra reaffirmations and meditation in the morning. This is our day as a Sangha to come along and offer support and friendship to one another as we journey along the path together. There is a felt need for us to find ways to explore and activate our own engagement with this path and connect more fully with one another.
We are inviting you to come along and participate in a series of workshops in the afternoon, designed to foster playfulness, creativity and spontaneity. The intention is for us to step out of our own comfort zones, well-trodden patterns of behaviour and expectations on such a day as this.
Dana, open handed generosity, holds a special place for each of us and is at the heart of our community. Sangha Day offers us an experience of being in community with one another with arms wide open. One of the ways we can do this is by bringing offerings of food for a shared lunch. Some say the best thing you can give is the gift of food. Let’s make this festival day a feast day – a feast for our hearts and bellies by bringing all of ourselves into the day, participating fully in the ritual, the workshops and the sharing of food. Throughout the day let’s join in together to make things happen and ensure the day runs smoothly.
Then when we  go our separate ways may we be nourished and heartened by our participation in our community celebrations of Sangha day.
See you there
