With Maitridarshin and Maitrimala
Following on from our day on Compassion a few months ago we are continuing with the practice of the 4 Brahma Viharas (the divine abodes or limitless qualities), offering a day on Mudita.
Compassion and joy are like the two wings of a bird, they need to be balanced in order to fly. Mudita is the ability to be happy when we see others’ happiness, a genuine delight in their good fortune.
Practising Mudita helps us go beyond envy, resentment and self-absorption, and counteracts criticism and fault finding. We can then free ourselves to live more joyful lives.
Please bring vegan/vegetarian lunch to share.
