Randall Evans

Randall_EvansRandall teaches Yoga classes at Brighton Buddhist Centre.
Randall began teaching Yoga at the University of California, San Diego where he graduated with a Masters in Fine Art in 1992. Randall is an Intermediate Junior Level 3 Iyengar® Yoga teacher and has recently settled in Sussex, UK. He studies Yoga with B.K.S. Iyengar and his son Prasant S. Iyengar and daughter Dr. Geeta S. Iyengar at the Ramamani Iyengar Memorial Yoga Institute in Pune, India and many of his senior teachers around the world. Randall is inspired by the transformational quality of yoga and teaches with clarity, insight and creativity.

When asked to describe his method of yoga in an interview B.K.S. Iyengar replied; “I just try to get the physical body in line with the mental body, the mental body in line with the intellectual body, and the intellectual body with the spiritual body so they are balanced. It’s just pure traditional yoga, from our ancestors, from our gurus, from Patanjali.”. Iyengar Yoga is a complete approach to physical, mental, emotional, and spiritual transformation. It is made accessible to everyone by the use of skilful instruction, props, and when needed modifications of postures and individual adjustments. Practising the postures and breathing with awareness develops harmony, unifying the mind, body and spirit, and helping us to realise our true nature. Yoga philosophy is incorporated and appropriate time will be allocated for Savasana (relaxation) at the end of each class.

This is an all levels yoga asana class, which you are welcome to join.

Brilliant Iyengar Yoga class. Really helps for alignment of the body, at a pace, slow enough to handle painful hip problems and shoulder pain! Feel revived after this class J.B
