On this Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course you will be taught mindfulness practices and theory to help you relate more creatively to stress-factors and difficulties, developing more positive ways of being.
Mindfulness enables us to recognise unhelpful patterns of mind earlier, and empowers us to develop greater choice and flexibility over how to respond. This builds resilience and confidence rather than running off old, problematic patterns of reacting.
The MBCT course teaches meditation and uses CBT exercises to enable us to work with the mechanisms underlying difficult mind states. This enables us to recognise negative patterns of mind earlier, and helps us develop greater choice and flexibility over how to respond. This builds resilience and confidence rather than running off old, unhelpful patterns of reacting.
This course has been tried and tested over 10 years of clinical application and is not suitable for people who are currently clinically depressed.
Please note: If after attending the Orientation session, you decide not to participate in the course, you must notify the Buddhist Centre within 24 hours of attending it, in order to get a refund to enable us to offer the place to someone on the waiting list. Thank you.
Mindfulness courses include a course handbook and access to guided audio practices.
NB This course may not be able to run in person if restrictions relating to COVID 19 are imposed or if a number of participants test positive or are required to self-isolate.
