On this Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) course you will be taught mindfulness practices and theory to help you relate more creatively to stress-factors and difficulties, developing more positive ways of being.
Mindfulness enables us to recognise unhelpful patterns of mind earlier, and empowers us to develop greater choice and flexibility over how to respond. This builds resilience and confidence rather than running off old, problematic patterns of reacting.
The MBCT course teaches meditation and uses CBT exercises to enable us to work with the mechanisms underlying difficult mind states. This enables us to recognise negative patterns of mind earlier, and helps us develop greater choice and flexibility over how to respond. This builds resilience and confidence rather than running off old, unhelpful patterns of reacting.
Please note: The Orientation session for this course will take place online on Monday 7 February.
If after attending the Orientation session, you decide not to participate in the course, you must notify the Buddhist Centre within 24 hours of attending it, in order to get a refund to enable us to offer the place to someone on the waiting list. Thank you.
This course has been tried and tested over 10 years of clinical application and is not suitable for people who are currently clinically depressed.
