Date and Time:
6 weeks starting Thu, 19th May, 2022
10:30 am - 12:00 pm
The foundation course is a primer in the fundamentals of Buddhism using traditional and contemporary sources.
You do not have to describe yourself as a Buddhist to participate on this course. Our appreciation of Buddhism may be as simple as enjoying the peacefulness of a Buddha statue in a garden.
It is preferable that you do have an experience of the meditations that we teach (Mindfulness and metta) otherwise the ideas on the course can remain mere abstractions.
In this module we will explore the ideas around meditation. As these modules progress we can see how this is situated on the path of ethics, meditation and wisdom. We can see that not only is meditation of benefit in itself but it is also necessary to directly experience things that we may only know conceptually, like impermanence or interconnectedness.
