‘A day exploring compassion’
Compassion is the quintessential quality at the very heart of the Buddha’s message. It is what makes us truly human. Yet we sometimes find ourselves confused or conflicted in the face of our own pain and the pain of others.
Through traditional practices and an exploration of recent developments in evolutionary psychology we can come to realise the centrality of compassion in our own emotional development and gain a deeper understanding of the Buddha’s teaching.
This day of practice is sensitively led and will help us explore what compassion is, how we may recognise our own innate compassionate heart and how we might respond to the ‘cries of the world’.
This event is suitable for people who have completed our Introduction to Buddhist Meditation Courses or our Mindfulness Based Compassionate Living Courses and are familiar with the Metta Bhavana and the Mindfulness of Breathing.
With Maitridarshin and Maitrimala.
