Sangharakshita’s Tibetan Teachers

This is a rare opportunity for Mitras to come along and encounter Bhante’s Tibetan Teachers.

Sangharakshita had eight main teachers, six of whom were Tibetan. He met all six of these teachers while he was living in Kalimpong in the 1950’s and 1960’s when many  Tibetans were escaping from the Chinese invasion of Tibet.

Jnanottara has been interested in these teachers for many years particularly because of their influence on Sangharakshita in terms of the Buddha’s and Bodhisattvas of the Mahayana and Vajrayana tradition. Each of these teachers had very interesting lives.

Jnanottara is offering a series of 6 events for Mitras to introduce you to these Great Dharma practitioners.

He will talk about one teacher each time we meet and then about the main Sadhana practice that that teacher gave to Sangharakshita.

The programme will include meditation and ritual as well as the two talks and time for questions and discussion.

Jnanottara looks forward to introducing you to this fascinating man and to each of the 5 other Tibetan teachers.

The series will continue on alternate Saturday afternoons.

You are welcome to come to along to any of the sessions. If you can come to them all that would be great, if not, come when you can.
